Tom and Rita

In 2000, God joined our hearts to a couple who had just moved to Kirksville.  Tom and Rita Hutchens came to us from Pittsburg Kansas, but they had roots in the Philippines where they had lived for several years and were the directors of the Asian School of Ministry.  As we became friends with the Hutchens, they introduced us to their friends in the Philippines, and we began to make trips there every year.  Sometimes, several trips were taken in a year.  We have taken a variety of teams, and God has allowed us to work with the Bible College, feeding programs for children, emergency relief efforts, medical missions, church planting, evangelism, and training church leaders. For more information about the work there, see their website! Our hearts have been touched by many people there over the years, but most of all by our good friends and faithful co-workers the Pinos (see below).

UPDATE: Tommy & Rita are heading to the Philippines in March 2015, and Life Church is receiving a special missions offering over the next couple of months with which to send them off!

Several other churches have sent offerings as well to help with sending them to the Philippines to live.

Noemi and Bobby

Bobby and Noemi Pino oversee the Bible college that the Hutchens once directed.  Bobby is also the lead pastor at Covenant Life Church in Dumaguete as well as leads the Community Bible Church in Bais.  The Pinos have planted and help plant many churches throughout the Visayan Region of the Philippines.  The Pinos and their five children are our home base when we go there.  Our goal is to help our friends there build family Kingdom churches and to raise up New Testament leadership teams to lead these churches and demonstrate family and Kingdom relationships.  We also want to learn from the Pinos and other leaders in the Philippines things that will help us be a more effective apostolic church back here in America or wherever God sends us.
