This world is broken. We love it, but it is broken. Its people are hurting. Its plans are failing. Its hope is dwindling. The Bible says it like this, that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) Humanity was not made for distress, for burden, for despair and pain. These results of sin are everywhere in our world today - all have sinned. But we were made for something else.
We were made for glory.
Not the glory of man. "Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow." (Psalm 144:4) No. We were made for something far more significant than our own glory.
We were made for the glory of God.
Reunited with God our Father through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, we fall short no longer. Now, "we have seen His glory," (John 1:14) and we have hope, peace, and confidence in Him.
We are thankful for this amazing transformation. And so we worship God, who allows us to see Him in His glory and then makes us carriers of this same glory to the world.
This is why we worship, and this is why we want to release our songs of worship. Because the glory of God, and seeing His glory touch our broken world, is what we were made for.
From Andrew Fajkus:
I started writing “Church Unleashed” in the fall of 2013. Our family of churches had an upcoming youth conference with the theme “The Church Unleashed: Preach the Gospel.” I decided to try to write an upbeat song with a minor feel that would expound upon that theme. The first verse is written as the Lord challenging His people to truly be His people and, like John the Baptist, to prepare the way for Jesus Christ to build His kingdom in the earth. As a response to God’s challenge, the pre-chorus echoes that dangerous prayer that Jesus prayed before going to the cross in Luke 22:42, as well as the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13: “Your will be done!” I felt that the chorus needed to be a declaration of our identity in Christ and our role is as His body in the earth. It was very important to me for it to be more than just a personal expression, but rather a corporate cry for the Church to declare together.
When I found myself needing a bridge for the song, I remembered a spontaneous song I had received during a previous conference for our family of churches: “Jesus on the inside is coming on the outside.” It just seemed to sum up how we, as His people, are supposed to be unleashing the power and the presence of God into the earth through the person of Jesus Christ. My prayer is to encourage the body of Christ, His Church, to take up our crosses, follow Jesus, and declare His rule and reign until He, our King, comes back again.

By Bethany Shipman:
No matter how old we are, we have all been afraid of something in our lives. But if you have Jesus in your heart, you are learning that HE is more powerful than any devil or any thought that tries to capture you. It’s not like in the movies where the bad guy and the good guy have about an even chance of winning; God ALWAYS has the upper hand, and if you are on HIS team, you will too!
This song was written from the heart of a mom to help kids (and grown-ups!) remember two Bible verses that tell us how to stand in the power God has for His children (2 Timothy 1:7 and James 4:7).
